Re: Chat Thread (REPLY)

I wrote I'm good.
I'm not sure what I mean by that. But I'm stable and I can help out on this thread.

Re: Chat Thread (REPLY)

To avoid confusion I think I'm going to address chatters directly by their username or nickname because these quotes and parentheses are making me lost.
Many people when they say they are feeling "good", I have observed that they are feeling stable or experiencing content emotions such as love or happiness or peacefulness or just a feeling of well-being in general. Sometimes people say that to hide how they're really feeling. I'm feeling a little lonely tonight but I am stable. I realize that I am the only company I can constantly keep so I'll keep that company right now and it's nice to be on here. I'm going to try and make more of these chats. I don't know if my forum board is on the Google SEO but it is posted on my clapper and I'll try to post it elsewhere. I do practice a five module process but it is very generic and you'll see on my front page a thread that describes what it's about if you would like to look at it or you can just share what's on your mind. I encourage you to stay on topic of Mental Health maybe you can share also how you would describe a "good" feeling.

Re: Chat Thread (REPLY)

I think what I'll do is I'll keep my quote.
I'm basically happy right now. I'm also happy to see this stuff around on the web. I got your link from your clapper. You're doing a great job, Cerol.
I assume this particular post that you just made is addressed to me. So that's my response.
I found you on here also from another forum board called mental health forum, where you talked about your own forum board and that led me here.
I looked at your threads on that board as well and I noticed you said you were leaving that board. I can imagine it's hard for you to find even peer support right now because people are very quick to be critical and they have their own mental health issues I imagine.
I tried to find Pier help and free therapy too and I found several websites but they either needed registration, unlike yours, or they were too esoteric and compartmentalized (example they were either for teens or veterans etc and not for the general public) others were in specific nations and cost money to join.
We do live in a big world and I can't believe it's still so difficult to find the right support.

I'm going to stay on for 45 more minutes but I'm going to try and get in the habit of going on every day I'll see what times are best for me and see what happens.

Re: Chat Thread (REPLY)

I bumped up the topic of peer help because it's so badly needed. Also I'm grateful that there are peer platforms and organizations that are available there are numerous ones. And most peer organizations provide training for peer listeners and peer counselors. It has been my experience however that there is not much enforcement or understanding of what that training should entail ( at least in my opinion).
Many of us and others are quick to criticize or give advice and get impatient with others for not taking that advice or criticism. Many of us that come for help in emotional support and mental wellness need a lot of tenderness and love and the word sympathy seems to be a bad word in the self-help community and even in therapy. Sympathy only expresses that we are with someone even if we do not feel their pain. Even empathy can be hard to deal with both for the empathizer and the person being empathized with because it can be overwhelming. But I implore that empathy and sympathy are not lost only trained and managed and brought under control.
It's hard to trust in authentic agape love anymore but we mustn't give up on it or give up trying to give it either.
