Only six Psychiatric Emergency Response Team PERT officers are in the Police Force. For my County!
NO WONDER THERE'S SO MUCH BURNOUT.
This from someone my roommate and I know. He has a mental illness.
You can imagine how it affects people who are out of control with psychoses.

Another comment I would like to make is this:

I take everybody seriously but when I understand that someone is upset or having trouble with their neurosis or psychosis or emotional or mental upset, I need to keep in mind that it's very often not about me especially when they're attacking me verbally or emotionally.
