I'm not Abby but when I ask questions or when someone asks me questions I like to look up things. and my favorite AI is:

according to this the answer is:

Sex is a want, not a need for individual survival, but it's a powerful human drive that's very important for well-being and relationships.

    Here's a breakdown:

Not a Survival Need: You won't die without sex, unlike food or water. Your body doesn't physically break down if you don't have it [2] [4].
A Strong Drive: However, sex is a fundamental biological and psychological drive [5] [6]. It's a natural urge.
Meets Deeper Wants: People often use sex to fulfill other important "wants" like:
Connection and Intimacy: It helps people feel close and bonded [7] [8].
Feeling Good About Themselves: It can boost self-esteem and make people feel desired [9].
Relationship Health: For many couples, a healthy sex life is crucial for a strong, happy relationship [10] [11].
Species Survival: From a broader perspective, sex is essential for the human species to continue [5].

So, while you don't need sex to live, it's a deeply ingrained want that contributes significantly to happiness, connection, and overall life satisfaction for many people [3] [5].

I was very relieved to hear this actually. it's a little scary when people talk about it being a need. it is not a survival need. not everybody can be in a relationship. not everybody is even comfortable with self sex. celibacy can be a lifestyle as well. and there are asexuals
for me the important thing is that no one controls anyone sexually.
it should never be used as an entitlement.
